Abstract

Understanding of Islamic jurisprudence of worship is an important aspect of Islamic religious education as it serves as a guide for students' daily worship practices. This study aims to determine the difference in the effect of lecture and discussion methods on students' understanding of worship jurisprudence at MA Negeri 1 Lampung Tengah. The research method used is comparative quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The population was all 10th-grade students, while the sample consisted of 60 students divided into two groups: 30 students taught using the lecture method and 30 students using the discussion method. Data collection techniques used written tests and observation. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. The results showed a significant difference in understanding between students taught using the discussion method compared to the lecture method. The discussion method provided a better effect with an average score of 78.2 compared to the lecture method with an average of 71.5. This indicates that the discussion method is more effective in improving students' understanding of worship jurisprudence.
