PERAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENCEGAH KENAKALAN REMAJA DI KECAMATAN BANDAR MATARAM
Abstract
Juvenile delinquency is a social problem that continues to develop along with changing times and technological advancements. This study aims to describe the forms of juvenile delinquency that occur, as well as examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in preventing it in Bandar Mataram District. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a field study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, community leaders, and adolescents, as well as documentation. The results showed that the forms of juvenile delinquency found include free association, misuse of social media, school truancy, and behavior that harms others. Islamic Religious Education plays a significant role through instilling values of faith, piety, noble character, worship habituation, as well as guidance and counseling. Prevention efforts will be more effective if supported by synergy between schools, families, and communities.
