Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe the initial condition of Quranic learning, the strategies implemented, and the impact of the Quranic learning quality improvement program at Ibtidaiyah Madrasah throughout Bandar Mataram District. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a participatory action approach involving teachers, madrasah principals, students, and community leaders. Data collection was carried out through structured observation, in-depth interviews, Quranic reading ability tests, and documentation. The results showed that before the program was implemented, the average Quranic reading ability of students only reached 48.2% with the dominance of conventional methods and limited infrastructure. Through training in learning methods, continuous mentoring, development of modules and learning media, as well as cooperation with various parties, a significant increase occurred. After the program ran for three years, the average student ability increased to 79.6%, teacher competence increased by up to 75%, and all madrasahs had adequate learning facilities. This study concludes that a community-based approach with synergy between higher education institutions, schools, village governments, and religious institutions is very effective in improving the quality of Quranic learning.
