Abstract

The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the principal plays a role as a leader, manager, and motivator in the implementation of SPMB. However, there are a number of obstacles faced, such as competition between schools, limited human resources, and changes in government policies. Therefore, an adaptive strategy and solid teamwork are needed so that the SPMB process can run optimally. The results of the study showed that the principal plays a role as a planner, organizer, implementer, and evaluator in the SPMB process. The principal also prepares admission policies, forms a selection team, supervises the process, and evaluates the results of admission for future system improvements. With active and participatory leadership, the student admission process can run transparently and accountably.
