Abstract: This research aims to describe the strategies of the Vise Principal for Student Affairs in Improving Student Discipline at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar.
This research is a type of qualitative research, conducted at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar. Data collection methods were conducted thru observation, interviews, documentation, and data triangulation. The main sources for this research are: 1. The Principal, 2. The Vise Principal for Student Affairs, 3. Teachers, 4. Students of SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar. The data analysis process is carried out using oral or written analysis techniques from the researched sources, in accordance with the actual conditions related to the Vise Principal's Strategy in Student Affairs in Improving Student Discipline at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar. From the results of this study, it can be explained that: 1. The strategy of the vise principal for student affairs in improving student discipline at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar is based on the example of the teaching staff, which encourages students at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar to continuously improve their discipline. 2. Supporting factors include internal factors, which encompass all teaching staff, the academic community of SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar, and all students of SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar. External factors that influence the vise principal's strategy for student affairs in improving student discipline at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar include the community and parental support. The solution to the inhibiting factors is for the vise principal for student affairs to be more assertive in giving warnings/sanctions/punishments in accordance with existing regulations, which makes students more disciplined. 3. The results of the vise principal's strategy for student affairs in improving student discipline at SMK Miftahul Ulum Jatidatar are a decrease in the number of violations such as coming late to school, wearing uniforms neatly, thus creating a strong culture of discipline, making the school more orderly and conducive, and the environment cleaner and tidier because students adhere to existing regulations.
