Author Guidelines

Advice and Suggestions for Manuscript Submission

Prior to initiating your writing process, please carefully consider the instructions outlined below. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the return of your manuscript for revisions, potentially causing significant delays in the publication of your work.

Word Limit Specifications

Kindly ensure that your manuscript meets the prescribed word limit: 3,000-6,000 words (Applicable to Journal Articles)

All submissions are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (*.docx).
  • Manuscripts should be written in either Indonesian or English (Indonesian authors must use the Indonesian language during submission).
  • Manuscripts must be written in an objective third-person perspective, utilizing terms such as "writer" or "researcher" instead of "me" or "us."

Originality of Manuscripts. Only original manuscripts will be reviewed for publication. The manuscript must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

Revised Manuscripts. Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam will not accept revised versions of manuscripts that have been previously published elsewhere. To maintain authenticity, a manuscript must contain a minimum of 80% new content, with no more than 200 consecutive words (properly cited) directly reproduced from any previously published material.

Copyright. Throughout the publication procedure of Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam, it is imperative to emphasize that the acceptance of PDF copyright agreements is discontinued. As an integral step of the submission process, authors will be mandated to electronically endorse the Author Guarantee and Transfer of Copyright Agreement.

Plagiarism Concerns. Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam places utmost importance on combating plagiarism. Each element of the manuscript will undergo a comprehensive plagiarism assessment prior to publication approval. Authors are strongly encouraged to meticulously cite information from external sources and articulate all ideas using their own language. Any detected instances of plagiarism will be promptly communicated to the author for correction and may result in the exclusion of the manuscript from the publication process.

Authors and Affiliations. All author names should be presented collectively, separated by commas. It is imperative to furnish precise and accurate author names as they will be archived in official databases. Affiliations must be linked to the respective author's name with superscript numbers and should be formatted as follows: Institution/University/Organization, Country (excluding detailed address particulars such as city zip codes or street names).

For instance: Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah Al Mubarok, East Lampung, Indonesia.

The Corresponding Author(s) should be denoted with superscript. The exact email address(es) of the corresponding author(s) should be provided in a distinct section beneath the affiliation.

Title Instructions:

  • The title should be succinct, precise, and compelling, limited to a maximum of 15 words.
  • All titles must adhere to title case formatting, wherein the initial letter of each principal word is capitalized, except for prepositions, conjunctions, and articles.
  • Exception: The initial word of the title or subtitle is always capitalized, regardless of its nature as an article, preposition, or conjunction.
  • Refrain from utilizing all uppercase letters in titles (e.g., "CHAPTER TITLE" is incorrect; "Title of Chapter" is correct).

Abstract. One of the main objectives of the abstract is to succinctly communicate the overall significance and conceptual progression of the study to a wide audience. Abbreviations should be avoided, and references should not be cited within the abstract. The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Guidelines:

  • Provide background information on the study.
  • Clearly outline the aims and scope of the paper.
  • Describe the methods employed in the study.
  • Summarize the key results or findings.
  • Present the conclusions drawn from the study.

Keywords. For all types of articles, authors have the option to include up to 5 keywords, with a minimum of 3 being mandatory.

Headings. Please ensure compliance with the formatting template outlined below for all titles featured in your manuscript. You retain the freedom to tailor the headings within your text according to the content of your manuscript. It is crucial to emphasize that headings and subheadings should not be assigned numerical values (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Background, etc.).

Text. The main body text should be formatted in 12-point Goudy Old Style font. Each new paragraph should be indicated by a single empty line. The entire document must be single-spaced and should include page and line numbers to assist in the review process.

Images. A manuscript is restricted to a maximum of 20 images. Any image or table not meeting the prescribed criteria will be returned to the author for rectification. All images must be provided as separate files in the .tif format. Furthermore, authors are accountable for securing permission to utilize any images subject to third-party copyright protection. For additional information, please consult the image guide.

Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note). It is imperative to verify that all information presented in your manuscript is accurately cited from external sources, with appropriate references provided within the text. Each submission must include a minimum of 20 sources. Furthermore, it is requested that authors strictly adhere to the citation format outlined in the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note). Inaccurate formatting of references may lead to the manuscript being returned to the author for correction by the publisher. For comprehensive guidance and examples regarding the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note), please consult Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam's provided template accessible here.

Self-Citation. Researchers may find it necessary to reference their previously published works to effectively convey ideas in their current manuscript. While Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam supports the use of self-citations in such instances, it is crucial that self-cited works constitute no more than 50% of the total references in the manuscript.

LaTex Incompatibility. LaTex files cannot be accepted as they are not compatible with Dimar: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam. Instead, we recommend using MathType as an alternative (refer to "Equations" below).

Equation Formatting. If you can input symbols or equations directly into Microsoft Word, kindly proceed to do so. Alternatively, if the use of MathType is necessary for equation formatting, authors can download the free trial version of MathType from the following link: http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathtype/
